Episode 140: Transition TN

In this episode, we talk with Jessica Aswumb and Hillart Travers about the Transition Tennessee Pre-Employment Transition Services initiative to improve quality employment outcomes for youth with disabilities across Tennessee. The second project looks at the effects of paid work during high school on the post-school employment outcomes of youth with an intellectual disability, autism, and multiple disabilities. Her main research interests surround the successful transition of youth with disabilities from secondary school to employment, higher education, independent living, and community engagement. She has worked with Vocational Rehabilitation and the Department of Education in two States to support the successful transition of youth with disabilities to adulthood by receiving needed services, experiences, and community connections while in high school.
